RHODE ISLAND EXPANSION ARTS PROGRAM (RI-EAP) GRANT !!

 

KAARI was awarded a three-year arts grant from the Rhode Island Expansion ArtProgram (RI-EAP). 

Supported by a collaboration between Rhode Island Foundation, Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA), and Rhode Island Council for the Humanities (RICH), the Rhode Island Expansion Arts Program (RIEAP) offers funding and organizational assistance to community-based, culturally diverse arts and cultural organizations.  The Rhode Island Foundation, one of the most influential charities in Rhode Island. For example, in 2017, RI-Foundation donated a $43M grant for 1,700 projects. RI-EAP is a program that sponsors organizations that introduce and disseminate cultures and arts from various countries to the community.

   

In 2018, RI-EAP selected four organizations from 19 grant applications. We are one of the four and will receive a total of $30,000 ($10,000/year) for three years (2019-2021). This grant money will help promote and disseminate Korean traditional music and culture to the local community. KAARI was selected because the association's 40-year history and its numerous activities have impressed the judges.  

 

The KAARI Culture committee is composed of Angela Sharkey (Chair), Sangwook Ji, and Bongsup Cho.
