On June 24, 2026, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Boston and the Korean Association of Rhode Island (KAARI) delivered 80 Korean-style lunch boxes—complete with Korean snacks and bottled water—to express their gratitude for the hard work of Providence police officers.
Deputy Consul General Kwak Jeong-ryeol and KAARI President Angela Sharkey offered words of appreciation and encouragement. They remarked that the event served as a valuable opportunity to strengthen friendship and cultural exchange between the Korean and local American communities and expressed hope that such meaningful gatherings would continue in the future.
All attendees enjoyed a wonderful time of interaction in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Consul Ji Young-sun, KAARI Board Chairman Lee Chan-ho, and KAARI Senior Group President Park Heon-jo were also in attendance.
