Replacement of Gas Boiler

We have replaced the old gas boiler in the KAARI center's basement with a new one.  Although the previous boiler had been in use for over 80 years, it suffered from poor thermal efficiency and functional issues discovered last winter, prompting the decision to replace it.

While the facility is currently heated and cooled by a heat pump, the newly installed boiler will provide valuable supplemental heating. The new boiler has a capacity of 133,000 BTU. The project cost $18,191 and was funded by the Korean Association’s Building Committee account. It was completed on July 9, 2026.

To ensure the long-term maintenance of the building, the Building Committee has consistently carried out repairs whenever issues arose, including installing new roof shingles (2018), a heat pump (2021), a solar power system (2022), plumbing upgrades (2025), and a new boiler (2026). Beyond these large-scale projects, members of the KAARI Operations Committee take the initiative to manage the facility by volunteering their time and talents whenever various repairs are needed.
