Great Legacy Re-explored Today - Nongak and Namsadang Nori

Nongak is a performing art with its roots in the folk entertainment enjoyed by farmers based on traditions promoting the wellness and prosperity of rural communities. 
It is a time-honored folk music tradition borne of grassroots culture passed down in each individual region, accompanying a dynamic combination of dancing, singing, and playing instruments. 
Nongak was used to reinforce the solidarity and cooperation of rural communities and contributed to fostering a sense of shared cultural identity among the members of these communities.
In recognition of this historical and cultural value, nongak was inscribed as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2014. 
Joyful mingling and interaction – these merits of nongak may be even more appealing to the people living today. 
Why don’t we steep ourselves in the dynamism of nongak that is gaining greater popularity around the globe?
