Our KAARI member, Ms Andre Lee Bassuet, will be doing two art activities related to Hangul. These activities involvee extension of the printmaking activity she did at the September 28th Korean Festival and will include some games and more workshop materials.
Korean Hangul Workshop
Curiou about the Korean language? Join in to learn Korean with fun art making activities. Hangul is one of the youngest writing systems created in the 15th century by King Sejong to increase literacy amongst its people. The shape of the letters mimics your tongue shape as you mouth the words. Celebrate the beauty of Korean typography for its simple and graphic quality.

Artist Bio:
Andre Lee Bassuet is a Korean American artist, designer and educator based in Rhode Island. She received her MFA at Osaka University of Arts and her BS from New York University in Graphic Communications. She taught elementary Korean to preschoolers at RI Korean School and currently teaches the Art of the Book at Brown University.
