The Rhode Island Heritage event was held on Saturday, September 21st, at the Water Fire Arts Center in Providence. At this event, people from various countries living in Rhode Island introduced their hometown culture and information. Each country's traditional arts, dance, music, and literature were introduced in multiple ways, and each booth displayed souvenirs and unique products from each country.
The event began with a greeting from US Congressman Gabe Amo. KAARI’s president, Angela Sharkey, cohosted it, and Public Relations Director Raymon Kim demonstrated calligraphy, drawing the attention of many people. In addition, Culture Committee member Sangwook Ji presented and sold Korean souvenirs. Ms. Lee Seo-yeon of the Rhode Island Korean Association performed the gayageum.
Despite the heavy autumn rain, many people participated and joined in the annual Rhode Island event. We want to express our deepest gratitude to the Korean Association members who worked hard for the event.
