The RI Veterans Affairs Office held the 71st Anniversary of the Korean War Armistice on Friday, July 26th, at the Korean War Memorial in Providence.
The ceremony, a significant milestone for Korean War veterans and their families, was graced by the presence of the RI Korean War State Commander Richard Mende, RI Governor Dan McKee, US Senator Jack Reed, RI Veterans Affair officials, Korean American Association of Rhode Island (KAARI) President Angela Sharkey and KAARI staff, and Deputy Consul General Soon-Bok Hong.
After the wreath-laying ceremony, the dignitaries took a group photo to commemorate the occasion. To conclude the event, we had lunch at the State House and chatted with veterans.
