KAARI Open House and Annual Meeting
KAARI hosted the End of Year Openhouse and Annual Meeting on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the KAARI Culture Center at 1140 Park Avenue. Many have visited our culture center during open house hours from 2-5.30 pm. The visitors have enjoyed live 'Korean Harp' performances by Oh Junghee, Korean snacks, and viewed our KAARI Museum.
The newly decorated museum displayed several Korean traditional items recently donated by two Rhode Islanders, Gregory Todd and Tucker Houle. Gregg Todd donated items collected by his parent, who lived in Korea from 1945-1946. Tucker Houle donated several photos, books, and dolls collected by his great-great-aunt Lulu Frey, the founder of Ewha Womans University, currently the world's largest female educational institute. It is meaningful that these donors found us and donated their valuable items to KAARI.
The KAARI Annual Meeting was held at 6.00 pm and selected Sangwook Ji and Heonjo Park as the next KAARI President and the Board of Directors. After the meeting, the attendees had a delicious Korean dinner and mingled and caught up with friends and neighbors.
Happy Holidays!
