The 41st Annual
Rhode Island Heritage Day Festival was held on Saturday, September 21st, at
the Pawtucket Armory Art Center. The KAARI Cultural Committee Chair Angela
Sharkey cohosted the event and introduced folk music, dance, and artwork from
various ethnic groups in Rhode Island.
KAARI displayed traditional Korean musical instruments and
calligraphy artwork. Our KAARI member
Junghee Oh and her student Seoyeon Kim performed together with a Gayageum
Byeongchang. The K-Pop show “DaeBak”
team of Brown and RISD students. Also, African American models wearing the
traditional Korean Hanbok appeared at the Fashion Show attracted the attention
of the audience. Thank you all for your hard work on this festival.
