On March 5, 2017, KAARI commemorated the 98th Anniversary of the March 1 Korea Independence Movement at the Way of Life Church. Angela Sharkey sang the Korean and American National Anthem. The student secretary, Yumin Jung, and a member of the Church, Hyeonkyung Jung, read "The Declaration of Korea independence." 

Boston Consul General Sungjun Eom gave a remark. In his speech, he mentioned his visit to Portsmouth City, New Hampshire, on February 23 and emphasized the importance of remembering Korea's independence. Pastor Youngju Woo delivered a special lecture on "The Succession of 3.1 Movement Spirit and the Role of Immigration Society". He emphasized the participation of immigrants and religious people during the Movement. Lastly, the chairman of the KAARI Senior Association, Dongseok Ok, led the shouting of "Korea Independence and forever." After the ceremony, all community members shared food prepared by the KAARI team and the Way of Life Church.
