The Memorial Day Ceremony was held on May 29, 2017, in front of the Korean War Monument at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. There were five Korean War Veterans, Deputy Boston Consul General Sungwhan Kwon, several KAARI members, and guests. Six Chapter 2 veterans passed away last year and five for this year. Just over ten years ago, nearly 30 veterans attended this annual ceremony. Most of them are over 85 years old, so participants of Korean War veterans reduced each year.

Following Angela Sharkey's American and Korean national anthem, KAARI President Bongsup Cho and Deputy Consul General Sungwhan Kwon offered a wreath. In his remark, Deputy Consul General Sungwhan Kwon quoted the movie 'Ode to My Father,' the story of the Korean War and thanked the veterans for their sacrifices and dedication.

After the service, the veterans and the KAARI members had lunch at Cathay Garden Restaurant.
