2023 Memorial Day

Memorial Day service was held on May 29, 2023 at the Exeter Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Several Korean War veterans and members of the Korean American Association of Rhode Island (KAARI) attended the ceremony. Veterans' representative Robert Jaworski and KAARI President Sangwook Ji laid a wreath.
 
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the USA/Korea Alliance. The Exeter Korean War Monument is worn out, and the paint peeled off with dust and moss, partially damaging the engraved images. The KAARI has hired contractors to clean and paint the monument to restore it to its original appearance. The project is ongoing and likely to take some time to complete.
 
After the service, we had lunch at Gregg's Restaurant in North Kingstown.
